Faculty of Advocates Host BBC's Gavin Esler at Book Festival Event

The Faculty of Advocates will host a special reception as part of the Faculty’s sponsorship event at this year’s Edinburgh International Book Festival, featuring BBC journalist Gavin Esler.

Glasgow-born Mr Esler,55, is one of the presenters on BBC’s Newsnight programme, having previously built a reputation as a journalist in Europe, Russian, China and South America. Faculty guests will enjoy a reception in the Book Festival boardroom in Charlotte Square followed by an audience and question and answer session with Mr Esler.

Esler is attending the Book Festival on Tuesday 12 August, and will discuss his latest novel, “A Scandalous Man,” described as an absorbing political thriller featuring a high-flying politician with friends in Downing Street, Washington and the CIA, whose political career is ruined by a sex scandal.

He has also worked as the BBC’s Washington Correspondent then chief North America correspondent.
